Responsibilities:
- Understanding the trauma that most of our clients have faced, and having a passion to work with the transgender and queer community. Able to view through a trauma-informed lens.
- Utilizing the BHT checklist daily to ensure all parts of the job responsibility are complete.
- Assist in the client intake process through transportation coordination, community orientation and appropriate intake paperwork.
- Conduct room and bag searches of clients both upon admission and if needed.
- Record and report client behavior and issues in daily shift report, legible, and helpful manner.
- Communicates effectively with other staff members, demonstrating the ability to work as a team member and contribute positively to the morale of staff and to promote quality client care. Is also able to communicate via text and emails with clear concise information regarding patients actions and or behavior.
- Supervise, monitor and inspire client’s in the clinic & living areas conscientiously with emphasis on client safety and well-being.
- Assists in assuring daily program activities: transports clients, coordinates group activities, admissions and discharges, and supervises all recreational activities.
- Providing compassion, support, and encouragement to all clients, especially if they seem like they are struggling. Utilize these interventions to redirect clients back to group or document talk with clients in EMR substituting their group time.
- Provide exceptional customer service and excellent attention to detail
- Conduct Q15s, Q30s, and Q60s in according with assigned rounds by provider.
- Behavioral Health Technician’s act as a role model in using appropriate counseling skills by de-escalating aggression, using active listening skills, using appropriate tone and volume of voice, providing a high frequency and variety of positive reinforcements, maintaining appropriate boundaries, and promoting a positive peer culture.
- Making sure the clinic is safe and clean at all times and ensuring clients clean up after themselves in the clinical building and vans.
- Provide transportation to client appointments.
- Inspect facility every morning in order to ensure it is tour ready.
- Send end of shift photos showing facility is clean and tour ready.
- Assisting clients with logging into Zoom if needed in order to meet with outside appointments.
- Conducting intakes.
- Administering urine analyses (whether planned or random), and sending them to the lab for processing and evaluation as needed. Following our UA protocol.
- Cover all job responsibilities if you are unavailable for any reason by delegating tasks to other staff members.
- Follow the client belongings process when documenting stored belongings or returning stored belongings.
- Report all maintenance issues as they arrive and call or notify the person who would handle the maintenance issue.
- Assisting in unforeseen circumstances or emergency situations.
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- 1 year of experience with the field of addiction
- HS Diploma or equivalent
- Valid Driver License and clean driving record to be added to Company Vehicle Insurance Policy
- Knowledgeable of the 12 steps, the process of recovery, the trauma of gender dysphoria, and other symptoms related to depression, anxiety and other mental health symptoms that could impact or delay an individual’s ability to function.
- LGBTQIA culturally affirming
Desired Qualifications:
- KIPU EMR experience
- BHT license
- Able to adhere to the policies and procedures of the agency.
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to see mental health through a trauma-informed lens.
- Able to communicate with the rest of the staff within the organization.
- Has a positive, motivational and fun disposition while able to de-escalate and inspire clients.
