SUMMARY
The F&I (Finance and Insurance) Manager is responsible for securing each sale, ensuring the completion of all sales transactions, and overseeing the delivery of vehicles. This role involves managing the finance process for vehicle sales, providing exceptional customer service, and working closely with the sales team to ensure customer satisfaction and maximize profitability.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Approach, greet, and offer assistance or direction to any customer who enters the dealership showroom or sales lot.
- Assist customers in selecting a vehicle by asking questions and listening carefully to their responses.
- Describe all optional equipment available for customer purchase.
- Perform high-quality, professional, and knowledgeable presentations and demonstrations of used vehicles.
- Learn to overcome objections, close sales, and perform all other steps of the sales process in accordance with company standards.
- Build strong rapport with customers
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Protects gross profit by arranging financing so outside sources do not impact selling margins.
- Establishes lender relations that tie the customer closer to the dealership.
- Generates additional income through the sales of credit insurance, vehicle service contracts and Gap coverage.
- Maintains control of all paperwork until it is ready to be turned in to the general office.
- Responsible for all paperwork involved with the sale of the vehicle, including obtaining customer signatures and securing payoff and insurance information.
- Converts cash deals to finance.
- Establishes and maintains good working relationships with several finance sources.
- Processes finance deals accurately and fairly through financial sources to secure approval.
- Conducts business in an ethical and professional manner.
- Processes all federal, state, and dealer paperwork related to vehicle transaction.
- Understands and complies with federal, state, and local regulations that affect the used-vehicle market and finance departments.
- Completes paperwork necessary for vehicle sales in a timely and efficient manner.
- Check all paperwork for correct title, lien information, taxes, etc., before forwarding to accounting.
- Manages the alternative finance source program to ensure that several sources are available.
- Sets up and maintains a program that will ensure 100 percent turnover to the F& I department.
- Provides sales force and sales managers with current information about finance programs.
- Trains the sales staff regarding the benefits of financing, insurance, and extended service programs.
- Works with sales managers to secure a reasonable profit from every sale.
- Coordinates finance forecasting with sales department forecasting to achieve desired levels of penetration and income.
- Ensures collection of all finance and insurance fees.
- Takes all credit applications.
- Prepares reports on finance penetration.
- Attends managers' meetings.
- Handles all rate quotations.
- Develops and monitors guidelines for working with customers to ensure maximum customer satisfaction.
- Maintains an adequate and current supply of all required contracts and paperwork needed for the completion and finalization of car deals.
- Maintains a professional appearance.
- Maintains a clean and professional work environment.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field preferred, or a minimum of two years of related experience.
- Experience: Experience with Frazier software is preferred.
- Skills:
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with customers, sales teams, and managers.
- Strong mathematical abilities to handle financial calculations, including rates, ratios, and percentages.
- Proficient in reading, analyzing, and interpreting business-related materials, including reports and regulatory documents.
- Ability to create and present reports and business correspondence clearly and professionally.
- Work Schedule: Must be available to work Monday through Saturday, from 9:30 AM to 7:00 PM.
