Position Overview

As a Residential Cleaning Technician, you will be responsible for providing thorough, professional cleaning services in our clients' homes.

This position requires someone who can work efficiently without sacrificing quality, follow established cleaning procedures, manage their time appropriately, and consistently meet our company's standards.

You must be comfortable working independently after completing your training period.

Training & Schedule

We provide hands on training to help you become familiar with our cleaning procedures, client expectations, and quality standards.

• Training Period: Approximately 1–2 months working alongside an experienced team member.
• During Training: Typically 3–4 days per week, with some days consisting of two homes.
• After Training: Approximately 3–5 days per week, generally one home per day.
• Weekend Requirement: One Sunday per month is required.
• Work Locations: Cleaning assignments throughout Madison, Tipton, Grant, and Hamilton Counties.

Scheduling may vary based on client needs and business demand.

Key Responsibilities

Routine Maintenance Cleaning

• Dust furniture, shelves, décor, ceiling fans, window sills, and other accessible surfaces.
• Thoroughly clean and sanitize kitchens, including countertops, sinks, faucets, stovetops, backsplashes, and appliance exteriors.
• Clean the inside and outside of microwaves.
• Clean and sanitize bathrooms, including toilets, showers, bathtubs, sinks, mirrors, fixtures, and floors.
• Dust and clean bedrooms, living rooms, and common areas.
• Remove cobwebs and address visible dust, fingerprints, and smudges.
• Vacuum carpets and rugs, paying attention to corners and edges.
• Sweep and mop hard-surface flooring.
• Empty trash and replace liners when available.
• Straighten pillows, blankets, and other items for a neat, finished appearance.

Deep Cleaning Responsibilities

Depending on the scheduled service, additional responsibilities may include:

• Hand-wiping baseboards, trim, doors, and door frames.
• Detailed cleaning of blinds, window sills, and tracks.
• Removing accessible soap scum, grease, and buildup.
• Thoroughly wiping cabinet and drawer fronts.
• Detailing appliance surfaces, handles, and hard-to-reach areas.
• Cleaning accessible vents, light fixtures, ceiling fans, and other commonly overlooked surfaces.
• Paying close attention to corners, edges, and areas underneath or behind accessible furniture and fixtures.

Quality & Professional Standards

• Follow Q&M Cleaning Services' established cleaning checklists and procedures.
• Complete a final walkthrough before leaving each property.
• Identify and correct missed areas without needing to be reminded.
• Treat every client's home, belongings, and privacy with respect.
• Communicate professionally with clients and management.
• Report concerns, damages, or unusual cleaning conditions promptly.
• Arrive on time and complete assigned cleaning responsibilities thoroughly.
• Maintain a professional, positive attitude.

Qualifications & Requirements

Applicants must:

• Be at least 18 years old.
• Have a valid driver's license.
• Have their own reliable transportation.
• Be able to pass a background check.
• Be available to work one Sunday per month.
• Be dependable, punctual, and responsible.
• Have strong attention to detail.
• Be comfortable working independently after training.
• Be able to follow instructions and accept constructive feedback.
• Be comfortable with physically demanding work, including standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, and repetitive cleaning tasks.
• Be willing to travel between client locations throughout our service area.

Previous professional cleaning experience is preferred but not required. We are willing to train the right individual who demonstrates a strong work ethic, reliability, and a willingness to learn.

Compensation & Position Details

• Starting pay of $17.50 per hour.
• Opportunities for raises based on performance, reliability, and quality of work.
• 1099 position.
• Initial 90 day probationary/evaluation period.
• Cleaning supplies and equipment provided.
• Company work shirts provided.
• Mileage reimbursement is not provided.
• Major holidays off without holiday pay.
