Product Engineer

Description

Q-Lab Corporation is currently seeking a Product Engineer to head our Q-SUN product line. Reporting to the VP of Engineering, this position would be responsible for developing a deep domain expertise in our Q-SUN product line (Xenon Arc Test Chambers) including performance capabilities and model series history. This position would serve as the go-to product line resource and own new product development designs, design improvements, and cost reductions.

Responsibilities

• Develop deep domain expertise in Q-SUN product line (Xenon Arc Test Chambers) including performance capabilities and model series history
• Serve as a go-to product line resource for Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing, and Quality teams
• Ownership of assigned engineering projects including new product developments, design improvements, and cost reductions
• Develop and validate innovative designs to meet all requirements for safety, reliability, performance, manufacturability, and cost
• Plan and manage project requirements, technical risks, deliverables, and timelines
• Document work effectively (engineering reports, test instructions, engineering changes)
• Facilitate regular product line reviews with Senior Management Team
  
  

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical)
• 8 years professional experience in a product development and/or manufacturing environment
• Design and troubleshooting of electro-mechanical systems such as heaters, blowers, motors, 3-phase power, machine controls wiring
• Demonstrated problem solving skills and experience delivering technical solutions
• Proficiency in 3D design skills and design translation
• Strong time and task management skills; effectively manage multiple priorities
• Data-driven decision making; capable of planning, gathering, and analyzing data
• Proficiency in writing and presentation for technical audiences
  
  

Desired Skills

• Design and troubleshooting of pneumatic and fluid control systems such as solenoid valves, actuators, regulators, flow meters, pumps, nozzles
• Deeper experience in one or more core areas: mechanical design, rapid prototyping, sheet metal, injection molding, weldments, fabrication processes, filtration, air handling, etc.
• Experience with Autodesk Inventor, Vault
