Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Restaurant Assistant General Manager to oversee daily operations at our busy dining establishment. The Assistant General Manager will support the General Manager in managing staff, controlling inventory, and ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations.
Duties
- Assist in managing daily restaurant operations, including staffing, scheduling, and shift management
- Oversee food preparation and ensure adherence to food safety standards
- Supervise kitchen and front-of-house staff, providing training and development to enhance team performance
- Manage inventory control, including ordering supplies and monitoring stock levels using POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS
- Handle cash transactions accurately and oversee cash handling procedures
- Ensure excellent customer service by addressing guest concerns promptly and professionally
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the restaurant environment in compliance with health regulations
- Assist in budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting to optimize restaurant profitability
- Support hiring processes through interviewing and onboarding new team members
- Coordinate catering, banquet events, or bar services as needed
- Implement food production standards for casual dining, fine dining, or quick service environments
Experience
- Proven management experience in the food industry, preferably within quick service & fast food restaurants or casual dining establishments
- Extensive background in food service management, including supervising teams and managing restaurant operations
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for order processing and inventory control
- Experience with food handling, safety protocols, and culinary operations; culinary or kitchen management experience is highly desirable
- Demonstrated leadership skills with a track record of staff training & development, team management, and supervising diverse teams
- Background in hospitality management or hotel experience is a plus
- Prior experience in catering or banquet settings is advantageous
- Strong understanding of budgeting, food production, and food safety standards
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle high-pressure situations effectively
