Pay: $60,000–$67,000 per year, based on licensure and experience
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM, with 1 rotating weekend per month

Silver Ridge, part of Pyramid Healthcare, is seeking a dedicated Substance Abuse Counselor to join our clinical team in Mills River, NC. This position provides counseling and clinical support to adults ages 35 and older receiving treatment for substance use disorders.

Position Highlights

• Competitive salary of $60,000–$67,000 annually

• Consistent weekday schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM

• Rotating weekend coverage required approximately once per month

Responsibilities

• Provide individual, group, and family counseling to adults receiving substance use disorder treatment.

• Conduct clinical assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.

• Facilitate therapeutic, psychoeducational, and process groups.

• Apply evidence-based counseling approaches, including Motivational Interviewing and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

• Monitor client progress and adjust treatment goals based on clinical needs.

• Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation in the electronic health record.

• Participate in treatment team meetings, utilization reviews, discharge planning, and aftercare coordination.

• Collaborate with medical, clinical, and behavioral health professionals to coordinate client care.

• Promote a safe, structured, and supportive treatment environment.

• Contribute to program development and quality improvement initiatives.

• Participate in the on-call rotation as assigned.

• Maintain the required schedule, including one rotating weekend per month.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field.

• Appropriate North Carolina licensure or associate-level licensure, such as LCAS, LCASA, LCSW, LCSWA, LCMHC, or LCMHCA, consistent with applicable role requirements.

• Experience in substance use disorder treatment preferred.

• Experience treating co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders preferred.

• Strong clinical assessment, counseling, communication, and documentation skills.

• Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certification, or ability to obtain as required.
