- Monday-Thursday: 1:00pm-9:00pm
- Friday: 8:00am-4:00pm
Position Overview
The Counselor plays a key role in delivering individual therapy, group therapy, process groups, and family therapy within our outpatient program. This position also supports daily clinical operations, intake processes, and documentation requirements to ensure the highest level of client care.
Key Responsibilities
- Support daily clinical operations, including assessments, utilization review, and therapeutic services.
- Provide individual counseling, group therapy, and family therapy to clients engaged in outpatient treatment.
- Conduct client intake assessments and assist in developing individualized treatment plans.
- Complete insurance and utilization reviews as needed.
- Attend shift‑change meetings, supervision, and required company meetings.
- Maintain a caseload and ensure all client documentation is accurate and timely.
- Assist the Program Director with program coverage and service needs.
- Perform clerical duties related to maintaining compliant and organized client files.
- Actively listen to clients and support them in all aspects of their treatment.
- Maintain a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment, including crisis intervention when appropriate.
- Complete all required trainings and maintain mandatory continuing education hours.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.
Education & Experience Requirements
Applicants must meet one of the following:
- Master’s degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or a related behavioral health field
OR
- Bachelor’s degree in the same fields plus at least one year of clinical experience
OR
- CADC or CAADC Certification
Preferred Skills & Qualities
- Experience with clinical skills in mental health, substance use, or co‑occurring disorder treatment
- Experience with professional, ethical approaches to client care and teamwork
- Knowledge of HIPAA, state licensing regulations, and CARF standards
- Ability to manage crises calmly and appropriately
- Ability to problem‑solving and use critical‑thinking abilities
- Ability to be flexible, adaptable, and reliable in a fast‑paced clinical environment
- Possession of excellent written and verbal communication skills
