Position Summary
The Steward/Dishwasher is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and organization throughout the kitchen, dish area, and food and beverage outlets. This role supports culinary and banquet operations by ensuring all dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen areas are cleaned and maintained according to company and health department standards.
Essential Job Functions
- Wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of dish room, kitchen floors, storage areas, and trash stations.
- Operate dishwashing equipment safely and efficiently.
- Properly dispose of garbage and recycling and transport waste to designated areas.
- Sweep, mop, and clean kitchen and back-of-house areas throughout shifts.
- Restock clean dishes, utensils, and supplies to appropriate areas.
- Assist with banquet and restaurant setup or breakdown as needed.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
- Support culinary and F&B teams with additional cleaning or operational needs.
- Maintain a positive, team-oriented attitude and professional appearance.
Qualifications
- Previous stewarding, dishwashing, or kitchen experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Open availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong attention to cleanliness and organization.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality required.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and reaching.
- Ability to work in hot, wet, and humid conditions.
- Ability to safely handle cleaning chemicals and kitchen equipment
