Position Responsibilities/Duties
- Greet and engage guests warmly, creating a welcoming and personalized poolside experience
- Guide guests through food and beverage menus, offering knowledgeable recommendations and upselling to enhance their experience
- Take and deliver orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring timely and attentive service
- Monitor guest needs throughout service, responding promptly to requests and anticipating opportunities to exceed expectations
- Maintain strong knowledge of menus, daily specials, and all beverage offerings, including liquor, beer, and wine
- Process point-of-sale transactions quickly and accurately
- Collaborate with barbacks, runners, bartenders, and pool attendants to ensure seamless service flow
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-presented work environment at all times
- Complete opening, closing, and side work to uphold cleanliness and operational standards
- Support other service areas as needed, including seating, stocking, and general operations
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and alcohol service regulations
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Previous serving experience required, preferably in a high-volume or resort environment
- Strong attention to cleanliness, safety, and overall presentation
- Experience handling payments and operating a point-of-sale (POS) system
- ServSafe Certification or equivalent preferred
- TIPS Certification or equivalent preferred
- Ability to work varied shifts, including mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays (depending on operational hours of outlets and/or occupancy of hotel).
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on personalized service that wow’s our guests.
- Ability to function well under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet established deadlines.
- Must possess mature personal discretion and sound judgment.
- Professional appearance and demeanor, adhering to all grooming and uniform guidelines, including slip-resistant shoes.
- Enthusiastically supports decisions once they have been made by management.
- Excellent customer service skills and an ability to communicate effectively to guests and team members alike.
- Self-starter able to prioritize and handle various tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and unexpected situations.
- Ability to take direction and collaborate in a team environment.
- Proficiency required in reading, writing, and mathematics, in English.
- Ability to work in a high energy and demanding environment.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as with other team members.
- Able to work unsupervised for extensive periods, and to demonstrate good judgement when dealing with customers and peers.
