About Our Property

The Hanover Inn has a rich legacy of hospitality stretching all the way back to its humble beginning back in 1780 when the Inn first welcomed guests as a Tavern. Notable guests have included Presidents Monroe, Wilson, F.D.R., Eisenhower, Nixon, and Reagan. George Washington did not sleep at the inn but Booker T. Washington did. Entertainers have included Kirk Douglas, Ella Fitzgerald, Joan Baez, Art Linkletter, Mary Tyler Moore, Burt Bacharach, Duke Ellington, Lillian Gish and B.B. King. The list of writers includes F. What You Will Have An Opportunity To Do

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales and Catering Manager to help drive group and conference sales while supporting the Director of Sales & Marketing in achieving revenue goals, social media initiatives and strategic business development.

Your Role & Responsibilities

• Generate group, conference, and event sales revenue for the hotel, focusing on both local, national and social markets.
• Develop and execute sales strategies to maximize revenue across rooms, F&B, and conference services.
• Support the Director of Sales & Marketing in implementing Social Media marketing initiatives to support the hotel’s position as the premier destination for college events, conferences, reunions, and game-day experiences.
• Actively prospect, qualify, and secure new business while growing existing accounts through relationship building and targeted outreach.
• Partner with the conference planning team to ensure seamless event execution and guest satisfaction.
• Prepare creative sales presentations and proposals tailored to client needs.
• Conduct site inspections to showcase the property’s offerings.
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients to establish the hotel as their preferred venue.
• Participate in community engagement and actively promote the hotel within the Hanover and Dartmouth communities.
  
  

What are we looking for?

Qualifications And Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Two to four years of sales experience in the hospitality industry or a related sales field
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to negotiate, convince, sell, and influence prospects and hotel guests.
• Experience with Salesforce/Delphi and Microsoft Office is a plus.
• Results-oriented writing techniques and strategies for correspondence, i.e. letters, reports, proposals.
• Appropriate and accurate grammar and punctuation in written communication.
• Ability to maximize impact, maintains interest, and establishes a rapport with your audience when conveying information.
• Ability to proactively prioritize needs and effectively manage time and resources.
• Understanding the positioning of the hotel, services provided, and how the hotel can meet the needs of clients.
• English is a must; other languages are a plus.
