This role is integral to the success of our banquet and catering operations, supporting a wide variety of conferences, weddings, and special events. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and takes pride in producing consistently high-quality cuisine.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Chef and culinary leadership team in the production and execution of food for banquet and group events
- Accurately interpret and execute recipes to ensure consistency, quality, and presentation
- Prepare ingredients including chopping, peeling, portioning, and cooking
- Set up and break down workstations with required ingredients and equipment
- Minimize food waste through proper organization, portion control, and cross-utilization
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment at all times
- Ensure proper labeling, storage, and handling of food and supplies
- Be accountable for the quality, timing, and presentation of all prepared dishes
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and safety standards
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a fast-paced, high-volume banquet or catering kitchen is essential
- Strong ability to follow recipes and written instructions precisely
- Excellent knife skills and knowledge of multiple cooking techniques
- Demonstrated commitment to food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Positive, energetic attitude with a willingness to learn and grow
