Key Responsibilities:

• Room patients and prepare them for provider visits.
• Obtain and document vital signs, medical histories, and medication information.
• Perform Point-of-Care Testing (POCT) and specimen collection.
• Assist providers with examinations, minor procedures, and treatments.
• Perform 12-lead EKGs, peak flow testing, nebulizer treatments, ear lavage, cast removal, and basic dressing changes as competency allows.
• Perform diabetic foot screenings and other clinical assessments.
• Apply oxygen and other treatments as ordered.
• Assist patients with ambulation and transfers.
• Prepare and maintain examination rooms and medical equipment.
• Maintain accurate patient records and electronic health records.
• Process and maintain medical supplies and laboratory equipment.
• Follow infection-control and safety procedures.
• Provide basic patient education and discharge instructions.
• Answer phones, relay messages, and assist with patient communication.
• Support efficient clinic flow and provide cross-coverage when needed.

Key Requirements and Technology Experience:

• Urgent Care experience – REQUIRED
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Current BLS certification.
• Minimum 1 year of healthcare experience.
• Completion of a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) program OR qualifying experience as a CNA, EMT, or Clinical Assistant.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and basic clinical procedures.
• Ability to work with patients of all age groups.
• Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to work effectively with providers and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Comfortable using EMR/EHR and other computer-based healthcare systems.
