This position is responsible for the proper inspection, operation, and maintenance of fire suppression systems. Responsibilities include inspecting, testing and performing portables checks in accordance with fire code. This position will also assist with identifying code and system deficiencies and preparing accurate and timely inspection reports.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for the proper inspection, operation, and maintenance of fire suppression systems. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all portables inspections are completed on a timely basis and done accurately and thoroughly.
- Upon completion of an inspection, download the information and generate a completed inspection report.
- Participate in monthly team meetings.
- Operate warehouse equipment, including vehicles, in a way that facilitates the loading and unloading of the truck while observing all safety regulations and manufacturer’s safety instructions for that equipment.
- Work in a safe manner as outlined by company safety procedures including driver safety and personal protective equipment.
- Stay current with code requirements and industry changes.
- Remain current on standards for the inspection and testing of fire protection systems.
- Perform other duties assigned by management.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2 years of portables experience required.
- Proficiency in using test equipment including sensitivity test equipment, multi-meters, battery analyzers, sound level meters, and communication devices.
- Reliable transportation to and from the office or job site.
- Adheres to the Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, and Company Safety Policy.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- While performing the essential functions of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands or arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and is occasionally required to lift and/or move heavy objects.
