Role Description The Access Control Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Kenner, LA. This role is responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining access control systems, including readers, controllers, electronic locks, and related hardware. Day-to-day tasks include performing system diagnostics, troubleshooting equipment and wiring issues, and completing preventive maintenance to ensure reliable operation. The technician will calibrate and test devices, verify proper integration with other life safety and security systems, and document all work performed. The role also involves collaborating with project managers and other technicians, following safety and regulatory requirements, and providing clear communication to customers and team members regarding system status and service needs.

Qualifications
- Strong technical skills in Troubleshooting and Preventive Maintenance for access control and related low-voltage systems.
- Knowledge of Instrumentation, Calibration, and testing procedures for electronic security and control devices.
- Basic to intermediate understanding of Electricity, including reading wiring diagrams and working safely with low-voltage circuits.
- Experience with installation and service of access control, CCTV, fire alarm, or other electronic security systems is highly beneficial.
- Ability to use hand and power tools, test equipment, and diagnostic software relevant to access control systems.
- Strong attention to detail, organized work habits, and accurate documentation of installations and service activities.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a field service team.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; ability to meet physical demands of on-site technical work.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical trade school, relevant certifications, or manufacturer training are a plus.
