Step Program: after 6 months of employment: $21.50/hr, after 12 months of employment: $22.00/hr

So, what do we make at PWT Red Bluff?

We are a I-Joist Manufacturing facility that produces engineered wood for structural buildings throughout the United States and internationally. PWT I-joists are top-performing, “I” shaped engineered wood products that effortlessly meet any performance standard. With top and bottom flanges made of durable laminated veneer lumber (LVL) or solid sawn, and webs constructed with OSB, these joists resist bending and provide outstanding shear resistance. PWT I-joists are a more flexible, stable, and versatile alternative to open web floor trusses or standard lumber.

Engineered wood products (EWP) produced by Pacific Woodtech more efficiently uses raw materials from logs that are sourced from sustainably harvested timberlands. Since EWP is stronger than solid lumber, less material is required in construction.

What the jobs are: The positions that we have available are in our I Line-Regrade Department:

I-Line Regrade is where the packaging of the finished beams occurs. The beams are 8’ to 60’ feet long units. They are then banded and wrapped with PWT paper wrap.

You will be an integral member of the team in operating machinery, manually feeding wood to the line, grading wood for quality, and packaging units all the while maintaining a safe and effective work environment. Upon completion of initial training, successful candidates will have opportunities to grow into machine operator roles.

Work Environment

• Indoors and outdoors; Inclement weather (heat temperature- High temps between 90-100 degrees.
• Depends on time of year, rain and wind.
• Dust, Noise- Decibels can average around 90 dBA and reach peaks up to 115 dBA.
• Chemicals- Spray paint, ink, resin, and resin additives.
• Likely to involve shift work
  
  

Physical Demands

• Constantly- Standing, walking, reaching, pushing or pulling, repetitive motion- hand/wrist. Lift and carry 1-50 lbs
• Frequently- Climbing (stairs/ladders)

Required Education And Experience

• GED/ Highschool diploma or Equivalent required
• Manufacturing experience required
• 2 years of Industrial Experience preferred
• Or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.
