The Opportunity
As part of the Employment Law Group, you will provide specialized legal advice on a broad range of employment-related and partnership-related matters, with a focus on supporting the Firm’s partners. You will provide legal counsel on the whole of the talent experience including recruiting, hire, partnership admission, restrictive covenant matters, career progression and development, reward, benefits, performance management, transactional matters, policies, procedures, agreements, separations and retirements.
You will be responsible for overseeing and strategically managing employment- and partner-related disputes (whether in agency, arbitral or court proceedings). You will work closely with Partner Affairs, Ethics & Compliance, National Benefits, People Teams, business leaders and other cross-functional stakeholders to support firm strategy and mitigate legal risk.

Responsibilities
- Provide specialized, practical legal advice on complex partnership matters, employment law, regulatory, and business issues, often on a time-sensitive basis
- Support business leaders across segments by enabling strategic decisions while mitigating legal risk
- Lead and manage disputes and pre-dispute matters to protect the firm’s interests
- Oversee investigations, policies, procedures, agreements, and programs
- Develop independent recommendations and communicate effectively to senior stakeholders
- Build trusted advisor relationships with internal clients and stakeholders across the firm
- Manage multiple cases, matters, and projects simultaneously while meeting critical deadlines
- Direct and supervise internal and external resources, including outside counsel, to deliver quality and cost-effective outcomes
- Demonstrate thoughtful selection, instruction, and oversight of external counsel to drive value and control legal spend
- Juris Doctorate
- 8 or more years of legal experience
- Admitted to practice law in New York state and in good standing

- Leading collaborations across teams, clients, and counterparties
- Managing multiple cases, matters, or projects and associated resources effectively
- Handling pre-dispute and dispute matters strategically to achieve favorable outcomes
- Selecting, managing, and supervising external counsel to drive value and optimize legal spend
- Experience as an in-house employment lawyer (including secondment experience

Salary : $122,500 - $423,780
