Sr Physical Security Specialist

Priority Wire & Cable, a leading supplier of wire and cable in the U.S. and Canada, is seeking a Sr. Physical Security Specialist at our Little Rock, AR facility to develop and implement efficient security policies and procedures to safeguard our assets.  Your strong commitment to security rules and knowledge of potential hazards and threats will help protect our company and maintain a secure work environment where employees, visitors, and property are safe and well-protected.

The successful candidate will report to our Physical Security Manager and support the day to day actvity of the Security department.

Job Description and Responsibilities:

• Ensuring compliance with company policies and security industry regulations.
• Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures.
• Create management reports on security, conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and areas for improvement, and out brief management on findings.
• Manage employee badge process, access control systems, surveillance equipment and other security technologies to ensure proper functioning and effectiveness.
• Collaborate with internal departments, such as Human Resources and IT, to ensure compliance with security protocols and standards.
• Work with external stakeholders, such as law enforcement agencies, insurance companies and security vendors, around security measures and incident response.
• Investigate security breaches, incidents and violations, document findings and implement corrective actions.
• Educate employees on security awareness, policies and procedures through training programs and communication initiatives.
• Stay informed about the latest security technologies, trends and regulatory requirements and make recommendations for enhancements to the security program.

Demonstrated Skill in:

• Proven experience as security specialist, manager or similar position.
• Experience using relevant technology, computer programs, and equipment (e.g. CCTV), monitoring and responding to emergency situations.
• Experience in reporting and emergency response planning.
• Strong knowledge of security protocols and procedures.
• Solid understanding of budgeting and statistical data analysis.
• Working knowledge of MS Office
• Communicates well and has excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Remains calm in fast-paced and stressful situations.
• Demonstrates attention to detail and is diligent.
• Works well independently and is organized with strong project management skills.

Job Requirements & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in security management, criminal justice or a related field.
• 5 years of experience in security management, law enforcement or the armed forces, with a strong understanding of security principles and practices.
• In-depth knowledge of security technologies, incident management software and other security-related equipment, such as access control systems and CCTV surveillance.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement security policies, procedures and programs.
• Proficiency in security assessments, audits and investigations.
• Attention to detail and a keen eye for identifying and mitigating security risks.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and integrity.

• Availability to respond to security alerts outside of business hours if needed.

• Relevant professional certifications in security management or related areas, like Certified Protection Professional (CPP) and Certified Security Manager (CSM) preferred.
• Must be able to travel up to 25% to conduct site visits/audits.
