Assistant Produce Manager

Position Overview The Assistant Department Produce Manager is responsible in supporting the direction and supervision by the Department Produce Manager in all functions and activities of Produce Department personnel to achieve the sales and profit goals established for the department; to ensure and support that the work shifts of all department personnel contribute to the financial best interests of the store. Job Description Availability: Open Shift: Morning, Day (Varies Per Store Needs) Job Type: Full Time Description Follows established departmental and store policies and procedures Assists the Department Produce Manager with the successful operation of the department Ensures the quality and freshness of all products and services provided Shared responsible for maintaining the appropriate product assortment and inventory levels for the department Receives, stores and stocks a wide variety of products Work directly with the Department Produce Manager in ordering product to meet the needs of the produce department based on past and projected sales Pulls out of date product from the produce areas Ensures company standards for safety, sanitation and productivity are maintained Be active involved with teaching, mentoring and educating associates to help them be successful members of the team Performs other job-related duties as assigned by Department Manager and/or Store Manager Consistent and daily interaction with store associates, customers, and vendors Travel Required:No Environment Store : Grocery Warehouse (50F to 90F) Skills Specialized Knowledge : Basic computer skills Special Skills : Ability to read, write and perform basic math functions Physical abilities: : Requires standing, walking and bending throughout the entire work day and the ability to; Regularly required to grasp, push, pull, carry, stoop, twist, crouch, and reach; perform tasks requiring repetitive motion and eye, hand and foot coordination; hear and respond to customer inquiries Other: : Years Of Experience 5-7 : 5-7 years prior grocery operations or retail experience preferred Qualifications High School Diploma - General Studies Shift 1st Shift (United States of America) Company PW Retail Foods LLC About Our Company Building on its more than 100-year history in the grocery business, Piggly Wiggly ® continues to grow its presence with stores throughout the Midwest, South and Northeast.
