26/27 SY SUBSTITUTE COUNSELOR (WA STATE CERT)

Puyallup School District is seeking qualified school counselor applicants with skills, abilities, and willingness to provide school counselor support to our district's schools/departments. Substitute School Counselors provide coverage for absent Counselors throughout the school district.

Position Hours/Days: At-Will/On-call, based on the 2026-27 SY Calendar
Position Rate of Pay:

• Full Day Rate (Greater than 3.75 hrs) = $201.57
• Half Day Rate (Less than 3.75 hrs) = $100.78

Required Qualifications:

• Master's Degree from an accredited college or University (Verifiable per unofficial Transcripts) - Documentation MUST be uploaded
  • Official transcripts with legend will be required upon hire.
• Current Washington State Educational Staff Associate (ESA) Certificate, with a School Counselor endorsement
• Experience working with children in an instructional capacity
• Ability and desire to work on a constant basis * minimum requirement 4 times a month

Clearances:

• Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance

This Substitute position is screened by the Substitute Services Office ~ SubServices@puyallupsd.org and Hired by our Equity and Achievement Department

Selected Applicants will be contacted by Human Resources and will be required to complete the Substitute Onboarding Process, which includes;
- Onboarding Paperwork
- Official College Transcripts (BA Minimum) sent directly from the college/university
- Substitute Online Orientation
- Substitute Onboarding Appointment (Includes scanning of fingerprints)
