Major Duties & Responsibilities
- Case Management: Lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for a designated caseload.
- Inclusion Support: Partner with general education teachers to provide "push-in" support, facilitating modifications and accommodations within the regular classroom.
- Individualized Instruction: Design and deliver specialized, one-on-one or small-group instruction to address specific skill gaps and academic needs outside of the general education setting as required.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the middle school team to differentiate curriculum and ensure students have access to the general education environment while receiving the specific interventions they need.
- Compliance & Meetings: Facilitate PPT (Planning and Placement Team) meetings and maintain rigorous documentation in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Progress Monitoring: Use data-driven methods to track student growth and adjust instructional strategies to ensure mastery of IEP goals.
- Certification: Valid CT Teaching Certificate with endorsement Comprehensive Special Education (165, 065, 265) or documented eligibility for certification.
- Experience with middle school-aged students and a variety of service delivery models (Inclusion and Resource) preferred.
- Proven ability to write and implement effective IEPs and collect meaningful progress data.
- High degree of professionalism and a commitment to maintaining student confidentiality.
- Background Check: Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and meet all district employment requirements
