Major Duties & Responsibilities
- Program Leadership: Oversee all aspects of the middle school wrestling program, focusing on participation, skill building, and a positive team culture.
- Coaching & Instruction: Plan and conduct effective, age-appropriate practices focusing on fundamental techniques, safety, conditioning, and rules of wrestling.
- Match Management: Develop and organize lineups, manage matches, and make strategic decisions during competition.
- Student Development: Mentor student-athletes, emphasizing sportsmanship, responsibility, and commitment to academic success.
- Administrative Tasks: Manage equipment inventory, coordinate travel logistics, and maintain communication with the Athletic Director, school staff, and parents.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to all school, district, and athletic association rules and regulation
- CT Certification 600: Interscholastic/Intramural Coach or eligibility for certification required
- First Aid/CPR Certification
- Demonstrated knowledge of wrestling fundamentals, techniques, and safety protocols for middle school athletes.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate student-athletes.
- Commitment to academic excellence and holistic student development.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check.
