Major Duties & Responsibilities
- Program Leadership: Oversee all levels of the Fall Cheerleading program, fostering a positive, inclusive, and academically successful team culture.
- Coaching & Instruction: Plan and conduct effective practices, focusing on skill development, proper stunting techniques, choreography, safety progressions, and physical conditioning.
- Performance Management: Manage performances and school spirit leadership at fall athletic events and pep rallies.
- Winter Transition Preparation: Coordinate and implement preparatory training to ready athletes for the upcoming winter competition season, collaborating with the Winter Cheerleading Head Coach as necessary.
- Player Development: Mentor student-athletes, monitor academic progress, assist with college recruitment, and support holistic student growth.
- Administrative Oversight: Manage uniforms, equipment, budget, travel coordination, and maintain accurate program records.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to all school, district, and athletic association rules and regulations
- Community Engagement: Communicate effectively with stakeholders and participate in fundraising efforts.
- Feeder Program Development: Build strong relationships with youth organizations to support long-term program growth.
- Off-Season Training: Work with the Winter Cheerleading Head Coach to implement comprehensive off-season strength, conditioning, and skill development programs.
- CT Certification 600: Interscholastic/Intramural Coach or eligibility for certification required
- First Aid/CPR Certification
- Demonstrated knowledge of cheerleading fundamentals, stunting safety progressions, and crowd leadership strategies.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate student-athletes.
- Commitment to academic excellence and holistic student development.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check.
