Duties: Putnam Northern Westchester BOCES anticipates a full-time opening for a Senior Custodial Worker (Evenings). Candidate will be responsible for daily cleaning and safety conditions of BOCES facilities. Responsible for supervising, instructing and assigning tasks to custodial and cleaning staff. Performs or oversees routine maintenance tasks related to building operating systems. Assigned to clean, paint, make minor electrical and plumbing repairs, cut grass, rake leaves and snow removal. Arranges special set-up of activities as programs require. Makes recommendations for and orders custodial supplies, supplies and equipment, processes payroll, and participates in hiring process for custodians and cleaners. May use computer applications including spreadsheets, word processing, calendar, email and database software in performing work assignments.Qualifications: Good knowledge of building cleaning practices, supplies and equipment. Working knowledge of the tools, terminology, and practices of one or more skilled trades; ability to perform a variety of routine maintenance tasks; ability to plan and supervise the work of others. Must be able to follow and give clear written and verbal directions. Must be able to use or learn computer applications, spreadsheets and database software programs as related to duties. Must be physically able to perform all job related duties. Must hold a valid driver's license for duration of employment. Must obtain clearance for employment from NYS Education Department based on fingerprinting and criminal history background check.Must qualify through Civil Service.
