Messenger (Leave Replacement)

Duties: Putnam Northern Westchester BOCES is seeking a Messenger (F/T) to work in our Warehouse, Mailroom and Central Receiving. Under supervision, this position is responsible for operating a vehicle to pick up/deliver mail, packages, PPE and other materials within and outside the PNW BOCES facilities. Sorts and prepares mail, stamps/seals outgoing mail. Keeps records of items received and delivered. Delivers bank deposits and performs duplicating assignments. May be involved in retrieving and organizing records. Computer applications and automated systems used in performing work assignments.Qualifications: Good knowledge of safety precautions involved in the operation of light automotive equipment; ability to operate a motor vehicle; ability to understand and follow simple oral and written instructions; ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English sufficiently to perform the essential duties of the position; ability to get along well with others; dependability; courtesy; neat personal appearance; Must be highly motivated, organized and able to multi-task. Must be physically able to perform all job related duties.Characteristics Desired: Must have valid NYS Driver's License, subject to violations check.
