Quality Technician
Putnam Machine is hiring a first shift Quality Technician. This position is full time (40 hours) with occasional overtime on Saturdays. Training will be provided, and may be extensive, depending on applicant experience. First Shift runs Monday – Friday, 7AM to 3:30PM.
Job Responsibilities:
·Use precision measuring tools and equipment to perform first article, in-process, final audit, and routine inspections of precision machined components per engineering drawings, specifications, and process plans.
·Perform audits of the Quality Management System per ISO 9001:2015 under the direction and with the assistance of the Quality Manager. Identify non-conformances and assist in root cause analysis and corrective actions.
·Calibrate gages and maintain calibration logs of gages and inspection equipment under the direction of the Quality Manager.
·Perform capability studies, gage R&R studies, and other procedures related to Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) as described in TS-16949.
·Train machine operators in the proper use of specialized inspection equipment.
Required Qualifications:
·High school diploma or GED.
·1 years of experience in a quality or inspection role in a manufacturing environment.
·Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
·Ability to work at a standing job for 3 hours at a time.
·Ability to lift parts or containers up to 30 lbs. with occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
·Ability to use a computer workstation and familiarity with Microsoft Office, GageTrak®, and JobBOSS software.
·Hands on experience operating a CMM and proficiency with PC-DMIS and Calypso CMM software.
·Ability to operate an Opticline CCD scanning machine and programming of same is a plus.
·Familiarity with optical comparators, hardness testers, and surface finish measurement devices is a plus.
