The Putnam County School Age Care Program (SAC) is a parent-tuition funded group childcare program licensed by the Tennessee Department of Education. The Putnam County Board of Education is the governing body for this program, authorizing use of public school buildings for before and after school childcare, and full day programs during holidays, intersession, and summer vacation. SAC is an equal access program for students enrolled in Putnam County Schools, ages four through fourteen (age of child on August 15 of current school year.) The program includes numerous creative and cultural activities including crafts, sports, games, snacks, art, music, and technology. Role Description
This is a part-time, on-site role located in Cookeville, TN for an Activity Instructor. Key responsibilities include assisting the Site Director with daily operations, maintaining daily attendance and supervision of students, implementing daily student activities, assist with and maintain the use of equipment and games, and provide a safe, positive, inclusive environment for students. The instructor will collaborate with their Site Director, colleagues and school staff to enhance the overall experience.
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years or older and possess a High School diploma or GED.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students and collaborate with colleagues.
- Proficiency in planning, organizing, and implementing educational or enrichment activities.
- Provide direct instruction and supervision to students.
- A physical examination document must be provided and kept on file.
- A criminal background check must be obtained prior to working on site.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures when supervising student activities is advantageous.
