Every day, older adults in our community rely on the Putnam County Council on Aging to get to medical appointments, the grocery store, the pharmacy, and community programs. Behind every successful trip is a Transportation Operations Coordinator who helps make it all happen.
We're looking for an organized, compassionate leader with strong communication skills, a heart for customer service, and a passion for helping older adults remain independent. This is more than a scheduling position. It's an opportunity to lead our transportation program, support a team of drivers, oversee a fleet of vehicles, and make a meaningful difference in the lives of local seniors every day.
This position plays a vital role in ensuring older adults have access to the transportation they need while maintaining a safe, efficient, and compliant transportation program.
What You'll Do
- Coordinate daily transportation schedules for clients and drivers.
- Supervise, support, and motivate our team of drivers.
- Communicate with clients, drivers, healthcare providers, and community partners.
- Serve as a welcoming point of contact by answering phones, greeting visitors, and assisting clients with transportation needs.
- Coordinate vehicle maintenance and help ensure our fleet is safe, reliable, and ready to serve.
- Maintain accurate transportation records, reports, and program statistics.
- Ensure compliance with agency policies, funding requirements, and transportation program regulations.
- Solve scheduling challenges while providing exceptional customer service.

Qualifications
- High school diploma required.
- Associate's degree in business, transportation, healthcare administration, or a related field is a plus.
- Relevant experience in transportation coordination, dispatching, logistics, office administration, supervision, customer service, or a related field is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Valid Ohio driver's license with a good driving record.
- Proficient with computers and willing to learn transportation scheduling software.
- Ability to pass a background check, driving record check, and pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
- Experience working with older adults or individuals with disabilities is a plus.
