What are the responsibilities and job description for the LPN/RN Charge Nurse position at Putnam County Care Center?
Shifts available (6A-6P, 6A-2P, 6P-6A)
- Follow established standards of nursing practices and implement facility policies and procedures.
- Assume responsibility for shift staff to ensure compliance with rules, regulations, standards of practice and facility policy and procedure
- Assure that residents receive needed nursing care and services according to plans of care and physicians’ instructions.
- Supervise and evaluate all direct resident care and initiate corrective action as necessary.
- Document resident care provided and resident’s response or lack of response to care provided.
- Obtain report from nurse being relieved and take down sufficient information to apply appropriate follow-up action as needed.
- Provide report to nurse coming on duty, including sufficient information for follow-up action as necessary.
- Take appropriate action to assure adequate staffing to meet residents’ needs.
- Conduct resident rounds daily, reporting problems to nursing supervisor and initiating corrective action.
- Identify resident problems and emergency situation and initiate emergency care and “life-saving” measures in the absence of a physician.
- Provide supervision to Nursing Assistant providing direct resident care.
- Plan daily work assignments and schedule based on residents’ needs and available resources, effectively communicate to shift staff and DON/Administrator.
- Obtain orders from physicians via phone or fax as needed.
- Complete physician rounds as scheduled via in person or telehealth.
- Monitor/control administration of medications according to applicable regulations.
- Other duties that may be assigned to you.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
