Purvéy Minden isn't your average retail store. We are purveyors of all things vintage and reloved clothing, books, records, home decor and plants.
We're a curated vintage and reloved clothing and home décor shop located in the heart of historic downtown Minden. Every item that walks through our doors has a story, and so do the people who shop with us.
We're looking for an amazing shop manager who loves people, has a great eye for merchandising, enjoys creating an exceptional customer experience, and isn't afraid to jump in wherever needed. This isn't just a retail job. It's an opportunity to help build a growing brand that's rooted in community, creativity, and giving old things new life.
What You'll Do
- Lead the daily operations of the store
- Lead a team of diverse individuals with respect, fairness, consistency, and by example rather than authority.
- Schedule staff with payroll and budgeting in mind
- Deliver an outstanding customer experience every day
- Merchandise clothing and home décor in a visually inspiring way
- Manage inventory and help process new arrivals
- Oversee opening and closing procedures
- Lead, train, and encourage part-time team members
- Keep the store clean, organized, and welcoming
- Help coordinate promotions, seasonal displays, and special events
- Assist with online sales, shipping, and customer inquiries
- Solve problems with professionalism and kindness
- Create content for social media. Must be willing to go on camera. You will be one of the main faces of our store. (All applicants will be required to submit an example TikTok or Reel.)
We're Looking For Someone Who...
- Loves vintage, fashion, home décor, or design
- Is knowledeable about vintage textiles, design and brands
- Has previous retail management or leadership experience
- Is dependable, organized, and self-motivated
- Has excellent communication and customer service skills, including conflict resolution experience
- Can multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Takes initiative instead of waiting to be told what to do
- Pays attention to details
- Enjoys working as part of a small, close-knit team
- Can lift up to 40 pounds and be on their feet throughout the day
Bonus Points If You Have
- Visual merchandising experience
- Experience with Shopify
- A love for historic preservation, small business, or thrifting
- Experience cleaning and processing vintage textiles
