Director of Sales (Location: Fort Collins, CO) *RETAINED SEARCH*
Our client, the industry leader in their space, is seeking a Director of Sales to build and scale the sales organization during a critical phase of growth. This individual will partner directly with the CEO to develop the people, systems, processes, and infrastructure needed to double revenue over the next several years.
This role is ideal for a sales leader who is passionate about developing teams, creating scalable systems, and building a high-performing sales revenue engine. The right candidate will be more interested in growing people and organizations than simply carrying a sales quota.

Qualifications:
- 7-10 years of sales leadership experience
- Proven experience building and scaling sales organizations
- Experience developing and leading BDR, Account Executive, and sales support functions
- Strong background implementing sales processes, coaching programs, KPIs, and accountability systems
- Experience leveraging CRM platforms, AI tools, and sales technology to drive performance and scalability
- Consultative sales leadership experience within complex or technical sales environments
- Ability to recruit, develop, and retain top-performing talent
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Comfortable operating in an entrepreneurial, growth-focused environment
PLUS:
- Experience scaling teams from 3-5 sellers to 15 team members
- Experience selling to architects, landscape architects, engineers, municipalities, developers, federal agencies, universities, or institutional property owners
- Experience within engineering, construction, infrastructure, environmental services, water management, or other consultative solution-selling environments
- Experience working directly alongside founders or owner-operators
Responsibilities:
- Lead, coach, and develop the existing sales organization, including BDRs, Account Executives, and Sales Operations
- Build the long-term structure and strategy for a sales organization projected to grow to 15-18 team members over the next four years
- Establish scalable sales processes, performance metrics, forecasting, and accountability systems
- Develop future sales leaders while creating clear career progression pathways across the organization
- Partner directly with the CEO to define and execute the company's growth strategy
- Optimize CRM, AI, and technology utilization to improve efficiency and effectiveness
- Support revenue growth across both primary customer segments:
- Foster a culture of coaching, accountability, continuous improvement, and professional development
- Evaluate organizational structure and identify opportunities to maximize performance and long-term scalability
- Help build the sales engine that will support the company's next stage of growth
