Summary:
Provide purchasing/materials support to all phases of the manufacturing process, to ensure on time delivery of the highest quality of boats to meet our customers’ expectations and production schedule. The buyer also assesses opportunity and acts to reduce material and operating costs by maintaining effective relationships with internal clients and suppliers.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Follow safety procedures for a continuous safety improvement process and zero recordable safety environment. Work with vendors to ensure safety processes are followed.
- Schedule delivery of materials and supplies as necessary, maintaining proper inventory levels and on time delivery. Review material planner workbenches and order with inventory levels and requirements met. Utilize established processes and tools (exception reports, past dues, etc.) to ensure on time delivery. Accurately maintain appropriate fields in Syteline with up to date information, pricing, vendor contacts, etc. and resolve any issues as required. Acquire and maintain and understanding of how to set up material planner workbenches, appropriate inventory levels, safety stocks, point of use warehouses, etc.
- Identify, resolve, and forecast problems and potential solutions to inventory and quality.
- Meet with suppliers and evaluate quality, timeliness, and procedures. Maintain positive supplier relations.
- Collaborate with the non-IBBI established vendors on cost, freight, inventory levels and other cost saving initiatives. Follow up with suppliers on all aspects of material logistics.
- Resolve issues related to accounts payable and inventory discrepancies within established timelines
- Assist team with setting up POU warehouses, field daily policy and procedure questions.
- Identify opportunities to reduce inventory, freight costs.
- Track shortages and shortage reasons for department.
- Maintain an open line of communication with all departments providing pertinent information to all areas dependent on the Materials Department.
- Attend daily meetings necessary to the materials teams and report pertinent information affecting the flow of materials to production. May be asked to represent Purchasing in Engineering Materials Meeting or Thursday Manufacturing Barrier meeting. Report pertinent information to team.
- Acquire and maintain expertise in Syteline, the pertinent forms and how to maneuver/set up reports into Excel for analysis.
- Develop and maintain cooperative working relationships. Maintain a helpful attitude, and provide any assistance required and agreed upon by other departments.
- Work with Damaged Defective where needed to resolve any issues with parts, vendors, credits.
- Assist in developing procedures and processes to reduce inventory levels while still providing on time delivery.
- Acquire and maintain extensive knowledge of Pursuit products and assigned commodities.
- Other duties may be assigned.
