Lead, CNC Machinist (Turn & Mill)

About the Opportunity: Operates all types of CNC Turning & Milling machines under the direction of the area supervisor or Lead Person.

Location: Plainville, CT - This position is 100% on site, Monday through Friday with overtime available (1st shift: 7:00am-3:30pm).

Responsibilities:

• Performs set-ups and operates multiple CNC turn & mill machines and related equipment where programs, fixtures, and methods have been developed.
• The ability to operate more than one machine in a cell environment is required.
• Inspects work for all dimensional features as required.
• Produces quality and quantity of work in accordance with Company requirements.
• Responsible for accurately completing paperwork relating to counts, scrap, time, etc according to Company policy.
• Performs duties always exercising good machining practices.
• Maintains area, equipment, and tooling in a neat, orderly condition including operator maintenance sheets. 
• Maintains coolant tanks and fills as necessary. 
• Assists new and less experienced operators as requested.
• Observes all Company policies, rules, and regulations including good housekeeping, safety and security.

Required Qualifications: 

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 0-2 years machinist experience
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full-time basis.
• Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience using Okuma machines
• Must be able to understand and follow instructions in English.
• Must be able to understand and interpret blueprints and sketches.
• Must have demonstrated mechanical ability.

Physical Requirements: 

• Requires mobility in a manufacturing plant environment while using Personal Protective Equipment. 
• Must be able to frequently sit, stand and walk.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 15 pounds.
