About the Opportunity:
The KPO Kaizen Promotion Office Intern role is a temporary role for students pursuing an education in continuous improvement / manufacturing engineering. This role will learn while working on real-life projects, also providing administrative support.
Location: Eastford, CT
This position is 100% on site.
Responsibilities:
Under Direct Supervision:
- Interfaces with all functional departments and handle Continuous Improvement requests
- Undertakes independent projects as needed in support of department
- Supports Supervisors, Team Leaders and Associates in the application of the Lean principles
- Assists in designs and fabricates right size equipment from Creform Tubing and other materials
- Assists in the completion of Kaizen Newspaper Action Items
- Participates in and supports Kaizen Workshops
- Learn how to use Kaizen tools

Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 0-2 years hands on experience
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full-time basis.
- Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.

- Hands On, Detail Oriented.
- Strong Mechanical Aptitude
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to complete multiple improvement projects within a team-based environment
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple tasks and demands to meet deadlines
- Able to effectively work with all levels of employees throughout the organization
- Maintains company values and holds self and others to the highest standards of conduct
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
Physical Demands:
- Light to moderate physical effort required
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
- Regularly required to sit or stand, reach and move about the facility
Physical Requirements:
- Requires mobility in a manufacturing plant environment while using Personal Protective Equipment.
- Must be able to frequently sit, stand and walk.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 15 pounds.
