What are the responsibilities and job description for the Doctor of Physical Therapy position at Purposed Physical Therapy?
Purposed Physical Therapy is looking to add staff with equal personality, values, & skills. We are a top PT Clinic in Greenville, SC because of our Christian, family-feel staff of highly skilled, fun & goofy personnel. If you have ever wanted to work in a non-corporate setting where you can give 1-on-1 care for 60 minutes, have flexibility in your schedule, & see a diversity of patients & injuries (but mainly work with the active population), then you should apply! We also provide competitive pay & benefit options! More details about the job will be discussed during the interview process.
HOW TO APPLY:
-- Send an email to PurposedPhysicalTherapy@gmail.com with (1) your resume, (2) a little about yourself, & (3) what you feel like you can bring to the clinic. We will contact you about interview times.
-- We will begin interviewing candidates immediately. Interviews will be conducted in-person ideally, but can accommodate virtually if needed. All interviews will be ~60 minutes long. We will begin interviews immediately & plan to make a hiring decision after completing our interview process. We are willing to start someone ASAP, or within a few months (if the candidate is needing to relocate or give resignation notices).
PAY STRUCTURE:
-- We will start a new hire between $55-57 per visit based on your experience & credentials. $55 usually for experience only. $56 if experience & has certifications in BFR, Dry Needling, &/or CSCS . $57 if experience & has certifications in OCS, SCS, &/or Fellowship.
-- Our staff typically sees 30-35 patients a week. The more intentional you are with your caseload management by scheduling patients out, using your waitlist, etc., then the easier it is to stay on the high end of patients seen per week / month. All of our PTs typically make between $90-120k a year, while only needing to work a minimum of 37.5 hours a week; but it really comes down to how well they manage their caseloads.
-- WORK HOURS = Mon 730-515, Tues 930-615, Wed 930-615, Thurs 730-130, Fri 730-130. This equals 37.5 hours a week. We can switch your Wed & Thurs hours, if preferred, & we can adjust these hours based on outside work activities (i.e. Bible study, etc.). We have Mon & Tues as our longer days in order to front load the week, & to have shorts days at the end of the week. You are welcomed to work more hours, to make more money.
-- We also have a tiered caseload bonus structure based on how many visits you saw in that month. That tiered structure is $300 (110 visits in a month), $400 (120), $500 (130), $600 (140).
-- We do not have PTO, but we allow for the flexibility to take off as long as desiring, but also as long as you are not abusing our flexibility & hitting an average productivity of 30 patients a week over the course of a year. This structure has been more satisfying for staff, rather than a PTO structure where you are restricted on how much time you are allowed to take off. However, we supplement by having no PTO, by instead providing an annual bonus of [50 visits x pay rate], which is paid on your hiring anniversary month - basically similar to a PTO cashout. So time taken off in the moment may not be paid, but it is usually made up for on hiring anniversary months. Our PTs take an average of 3-4 weeks off in the year, & they are still paid in the $90-120k range.
-- Since your first 2 weeks is onboarding, mainly learning the EMR so you are efficient, we provide a bonus for the first month while you begin to build your caseload. Most have a fully caseload within 3-4 weeks of hired, but it depends on how quickly you feel comfortable with a full caseload.
START:
-- Looking to start a PT in Sept or Oct.
-- Your first 2 weeks will be orientation: learning the EMR (WebPT - Soap 1.0), observing the clinic flow, developing your flow, integrating into the clinic culture, & taking a variety of CEU courses that are required to work in our clinic . We do this so you are best set up as a PT who can provide the higher-quality standard we want to provide for our patients! You will begin seeing patients during the end of your 2nd week, or the start of your 3rd week.
-- These CEUs are paid for by the company since they are baseline requirements: Unless you already have obtained prior to hire, in your first 2 months of hire you will be required to complete the following CEUs. Dry Needling Level 1 (Spinal Manipulation Institute - weekend course), Dry Needling Level 2 (Spinal Manipulation Institute - weekend course), BFR (Smart Tools - online), & Running Rehabilitation Specialist Level 1 (Trace 3D Running - online). If you already have Dry Needling certifications through a different CEU organization, that is acceptable in our clinic. You will also be required to complete Running Rehabilitation Specialist Level 2 (Trace 3D Running - online) within first 12 months of hire.
-- You will start in our Mauldin clinic. Our second location will be in either southern Simpsonville or Fountain Inn. You may have the option to transfer to the new location once that location is busy enough for a second PT, or we may just hire again for the new location if you are desiring to stay at the Mauldin location. We are hiring now because we are already busy at our Mauldin location. Busy enough to fill another DPT caseload without effecting current DPT caseloads.
BENEFITS:
--We provide optional health plans (via BCBS), dental plans, vision plans, & voluntary plans (short-term disability plans, hopitalization plans, accident plans, cancer plans, etc.). All but health plans are deducted from your monthly pay. Health plans are deducted from your personal bank. Every employee meets with our insurance broker to discuss their needs, in order to select the best plan based on your needs. Any plan you choose will kick in the following month of signing up.
--We also have a virtual health app that provides unlimited free medical & mental health appointments for all employees (and members within their household). This app provides 24/7 virtual care in any US state. Our company pays for this app & it's usage, so it is completely free for our employees to have & use.
ADDITONAL JOB DETAILS
-- You are not required to do any marketing in our clinic. Yes, super rare to work in a private practice & not be required to perform any unpaid marketing! We would rather you focus on exceptional patient care! The owner does all the marketing, SEO, AEO, networking, workshops, etc. As long as you represent our clinic well with your patients, that is "marketing" enough.
--Since we are 1-on-1 for 60 minues with each patient, we require notes to be completed same day. Something easy when you only see an average of 6-9 patients a day. Our documentation is WebPT & it is simple to use. We probably requires less documentation than other clinics because we have so many quick prompts added into the EMR. Daily notes can be completed within 2-5 minutes, evaluations within 10-20 minutes, & progress notes within 5-10 minutes. The goal with easy documentation is so you are overly distracted with your laptop when you are with your patients. We want intentionality with patients! That breeds word-of-mouth & better patient outcomes! We also require our PTs to be to work 15 minutes early in order to prep notes. We are totally fine with documentation while with patients, but you should not be spending most of the visit glued to your laptop (especially with 1-on-1 care). Also, we strive to maintain our reputation of amazing care, & strong customer service, so we never want a PT to be late to starting their first patient - hence another reason for 15 minutes early. Being late can effect your treatment quality, cause negative patient outlooks, & cause the PT to stress the rest of the day playing catch up with notes & patients. Prepping notes also make it is easy for you to finish your notes by the time each of your patients are walking out the door. That 15 minute difference of prepping your notes (undistracted) makes a HUGE impact on patient & PT satisfication! Prepping notes with a fresh brain is easier than playing catch up on notes when your brain is fatigued. And it ultimately make you spend less time at work & spend less time doing documentation. Our hope is for every PT to only have to work 37.5-40 hours, while still making $90-120k! Our PTs RARELY take notes home; however, some of that is personality driven too.
-- Majority of our patients are between the ages of 20-50 & are active. We also see a good amount of post-surgical patients in our clinic.
-- Patients are able to text our clinic number in order to communicate with the PT. We expect prompt responses & all texts responded to by the end of the day. Patients do not blast us, or abuse this, so it is easy to fulfill & manage.
-- We do quarterly meetings where we discuss clinic relevant details, record videos, & discuss a clinical topic. You will be required to be in the videos. We rotate who leads the clinical topic, but everyone always brings an article for discussion.
-- We do quarterly hangouts where we eat together & do a fun activity (i.e. Escape Rooms, Bowling, Top Golf, etc.).
-- CEUs = We require you to obtain your CSCS in your second year of hire, or start a higher-level certification (OCS, CSC, Fellowship) if you are interested in going that route. If you already have your CSCS or higher-level certification, then after your first year of hire we provide a $500 general CEU Credit. It is not paid out on hiring anniversary months if not used - use it or loose it. We completely cover the cost of your CSCS (book, exam, etc.). For higher-level certifications we cover $6000 (around half). All company paid for CEUs have a required working duration to avoid a payback penalty; which is based on the CEU & cost. Once you've completed your CSCS during your 2nd year of working, then your 3rd year you have the option to do higher-level certification courses or the $500 CEU credit. Every employee also receives a MedBridge account, paid for by the employer.
Salary : $90,000 - $120,000
