Workout Design & Experience Specialist

Purpose Brands, the parent company of Orangetheory, Anytime Fitness, Waxing the City, The Bar Method, Basecamp Fitness, and Stronger U is seeking a Workout Design and Experience Specialist to join its Orangetheory Fitness Corporate team. The Workout Design & Experience Specialists work in collaboration with the Workout Design & Experience team, Senior Manager of Fitness, and the Director of Fitness Design, ensuring all workouts meet Orangetheory Fitness standards, are scientifically sound, and delivered on time and at high quality. These workouts are performed daily by 150K members across the globe – the ability to create inspiring, challenging, and results driven workouts for the wide range of member fitness abilities is key.

The ideal candidate demonstrates exceptional creativity, analytical thinking, and expertise in group fitness programming. This role involves creating and entering a high- volume output of fitness content and supporting deliverables, maintaining workout quality, consistency and safety, and aligning fitness programming with product evolution and coach education initiatives.

PURPOSE / IMPACT (Duties & Essential Functions)

• Collaborating on workout creation and design.
• Data entry of programming into internal applications and systems.
• Create innovative solutions to programming needs.
• Drafting fitness programs and ensuring deadlines are met.
• Supporting quality assurance efforts.
• Assisting with fitness projects.
• Editing, proof-reading, and approving coach education content.
• Presenting to coaching network on monthly webinars.

• Expertise in Fitness Programming: Demonstrates exceptional skills in workout design, programming, and coaching to deliver world-class fitness experiences. Ability to act as a subject matter expert for fitness content.
• Public Speaking and Communication: Excels in delivering engaging presentations and crafting clear, impactful written communication.
• Creativity and Innovation: Brings fresh ideas and approaches to fitness programming and workout design. Innovative problem-solving skills to address programming needs
• Effective Communication: Maintains strong interpersonal communication skills to foster collaboration and engagement.
• Teamwork: Inspires teams through effective collaboration and works well with teammates to ensure on time delivery of content.
• Technical Proficiency: Skilled in utilizing tools, systems, and platforms to enhance fitness programming and operational efficiency. Proficiency in leveraging data and reporting tools to guide decisions.
• Attention to Detail: Ensures precision and accuracy in all aspects of fitness programming and content
  
  

Qualifications / Experience 

• 3 years as a fitness content creator, contributor, or program designer  
• Bachelor’s Degree required, Exercise Science related field a plus 
• Successful completion of the OTFit Certificate Workshop (upon hire)  
• Current nationally accredited personal trainer or group exercise instructor certification from: ACE, NSASM, AFAA, NSCA and ACSM 
• Current CPR/AED certification 
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience as an OTF Fitness Coach
• Expertise in running, rowing, and strength/conditioning programming
  
  

TRAVEL EXPECTATIONS

1-2x travel expectations per quarter for network visits and presentations according to business needs.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY 

This position will include people management responsibilities. 

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT 

This job operates in a professional office environment. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday in office and Wednesday/Friday remotely. This role routinely uses standard office equipment and performance tracking software.
