PURPLE is seeking a senior level publicist to join our global PR agency’s New York office leading high-profile beauty and wellness accounts. This senior-level role is developed to support with new client wins and is ideal for a communications expert with 8 years of PR experience and a demonstrated ability to secure meaningful, high-impact coverage across print, digital, broadcast, podcasts, and speaking opportunities.
The ideal candidate will have experience managing and developing junior team members and working with their teams to deliver best-in-class results. Strong media contacts and relationships is a must. The Account Director will be the primary point of contact on accounts and projects, serving as a trusted strategist and expert voice for clients; reporting into the division’s SVP & EVP. Experience leading and delivering PR strategies is a must.
Key Responsibilities
· Develop and oversee client PR strategies from conceptual ideation to execution and oversee account teams to support client goals
· Lead account teams across multiple beauty clients, ensuring client needs and KPIs are met and exceeded and adhere to timelines
· Evaluate and understand client business objectives and crafts strategies that reflects those business objectives
· Manage client benchmarks and deliver strong strategic placements through leadership and guidance
· Mentor junior team members and foster professional development
· Manage client budgets across events, influencer campaigns and other initiatives
· Consistently produce high quality internal and external communications
· Maintain close relationships with senior-level media and notable industry contacts
· Ensure all client reporting, communication, brand decks and press materials are created to the highest standard and deliver polished, impactful presentations and work
· Secure impactful feature coverage, business coverage and thought leadership opportunities that support client goals
· Collaborate with agency division heads to integrate through our own network of clients
· Provide strategic counsel and industry insights, offering innovative recommendations and keeping clients informed on emerging trends and market developments
· Oversee paid and organic influencer programs, setting strategic goals, advising on budget allocation, negotiating contracts, and delivering comprehensive post-campaign analysis and reporting
· Contribute to new business proposals as needed
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- 8 years of beauty and wellness public relations experience at a PR agency
- Established network of strong contacts across media and people of influence
- Proven track record of securing meaningful, impactful feature stories with top publications
- Experience managing and mentoring a team

- Clear and concise communication and public speaking skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Experience using industry database services (Muck Rack, LaunchMetrics)
- Experience negotiating influencer contracts and managing paid campaign budgets
