What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Product position at Purple Wave Auction?
Description
Purple Wave is the industry leader in online auctions for used equipment, built on a no-reserve model that delivers transparency, urgency, and real market value for every transaction. With expanding territories, increasing demand, and continuous innovation, we’re not just growing—we’re accelerating! As Director of Product, you'll lead the team responsible for how thousands of buyers and sellers experience our marketplace—from listing and bidding to payment and logistics-to how our team members use our systems.
This is a hands-on role. You'll work with company leadership to set product strategy and with stakeholders to set roadmap priorities while staying close to the work, guiding a team of Product Owners and Designers through iterative releases that directly impact our business. Product serves as the bridge between stakeholders and our technology department—translating business objectives into well-defined product initiatives and ensuring those objectives are met. We build together — product, tech, and the business as one team, not handoffs between silos.
The right candidate is equally comfortable mentoring a Product Owner through a difficult prioritization decision, jumping into user research, presenting to executives, and pushing back when a proposed feature doesn't align with strategy. You'll bring structure and clarity to a growing team while maintaining the scrappy, get-it-done mentality that got us here.
