What are the responsibilities and job description for the Organic Farm Worker position at Purple Sage Farms?
We are looking for motivated team players to join our crew on our organic farm! At Purple Sage Farms, we are a family farm with a small team of passionate and enthusiastic individuals. You'll gain meaningful organic farming experience while assisting in daily farm operations. This is a seasonal position for harvesting, packaging, and processing organic herbs, greens, and specialty vegetables, 8:00 - 4:30, Tuesday thru Saturday, available now through October 2026.
Responsibilities and Qualifications:
Be a punctual, attentive, and respectful team player
Ability to commit to the season
Be physically active for entire work day
Lift 30 lbs consistently
Work in all weather conditions
Perform repetitive work with efficiency, consistency, and accuracy
Ability to learn new skills quickly
Experience in working with gas powered tools like a mower or weedeater
Harvesting or planting crops/plants by hand
Pulling weeds using hands and tools like a hoe
Drip irrigation system installation and maintenance
Experience packaging produce or other products on a line
Knowledge of different crop plants
Ability to work under sanitary conditions in a commercial kitchen while packaging
Previous experience on a farm harvesting, planting, packaging, etc. is a big plus!
Compensation:
$12 - $17 per hour depending on experience
We also send lots of produce home with our employees!
