We are a growing digital marketing agency located in St. Charles, IL that specializes in helping home service businesses (landscapers, painters, remodelers, epoxy floor, closet, etc) and professional service (CPA, manufacturing, medical) generate more leads through Google and online visibility.
We are looking for a relationship-driven Community-Based Business Development Representative to expand our presence in the local market. This role focuses on networking, building partnerships, and generating new business opportunities within the Chicago Suburbs but mainly the Fox Valley area.
Success in this position comes from building trust, creating relationships, and becoming a known resource within the area.
Pay
$50,000 - $200,000 year
Key Responsibilities
- Attend local networking events (BNI, Chamber events)
- Build relationships with business owners/marketing directors and referral partners
- Develop partnerships with complementary businesses (contractors, CPAs, IT Companies, etc.)
- Generate new business opportunities through community engagement
- Set and attend discovery meetings with prospective clients (cold calling, door knocking, cold email outreach)
- Maintain consistent follow-up with prospects and partners
- Represent the company as a trusted marketing resource for digital marketing services.
Target Market Focus
You will primarily work with companies that service homeowners inside and outside a home (landscapers, painters, remodelers, epoxy floor, closet, etc) as well as professional service (CPA, manufacturing, medical)
Performance Expectations
First 90 Days (Ramp Period)
Focus on activity and relationship building:
- Attend 1-2 networking events per week
- Build 15–25 new industry contacts per week
- Generate 1-3 qualified meetings per week
Ongoing (Post-Ramp)
- Close 1–3 new clients per month
- Maintain consistent networking and follow-up activity
- Develop ongoing referral partnerships
Year 1 Targets
- Generate $400,000 in new business revenue
- Close approximately 12–18 new clients annually
Ideal Candidate
- Outgoing, personable, and confident in face-to-face interactions
- Comfortable speaking with business owners and marketing managers.
- Strong relationship-building and follow-up skills
- Self-motivated and highly consistent
- Experience in outbound sales and networking is required
- Digital marketing sales experience highly recommended but not required
Pay
- This is a 1099 contractor position offering a base salary plus commission. The base compensation ranges from $50,000 to $60,000 annually, with uncapped earning potential. If first-year performance targets are achieved, total annual earnings are expected to exceed $100,000 including commissions.
