Organization Overview

Purple Jam is Austin's hybrid social club, coworking space, and experiential events venue rooted in music, culture, and community. We exist at the intersection of purpose and people — hosting live events across music, comedy, food, culture, and global affairs, while producing daily short-form video content distributed across all major social platforms. Our brand moves between the local and the global, attracting a diverse, engaged, and growing audience of creatives, professionals, and community builders.

Job Summary

The Community Partnerships Coordinator is a key revenue-generating role within Purple Jam and serves as the first dedicated sales function in the organization. This individual is responsible for selling and managing advertising and sponsorship inventory across five distinct categories — website, newsletter, physical space, short video, and live events — while building and maintaining long-term relationships with sponsors and brand partners.

The Community Partnerships Coordinator reports directly to the CEO and Partners and works independently to prospect, pitch, close, and retain sponsors aligned with Purple Jam's brand, mission, and community values. This role carries a clear and merit-based path to promotion into a Community Partnerships Manager position based on measurable performance outcomes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prospect, identify, and reach out to aligned brands across culture, food, music, hospitality, wellness, and business in Austin and beyond
  • Pitch Purple Jam's full advertising and sponsorship inventory using a professionally prepared rate card and sponsor prospectus
  • Close new sponsor agreements across all five inventory categories and collect signed contracts
  • Onboard new sponsors, collect creative assets, and coordinate placement delivery with the Purple Jam team
  • Conduct monthly performance check-ins with active sponsors, sharing analytics reports covering web impressions, newsletter engagement, video views, and event attendance
  • Manage the full sponsor lifecycle from initial outreach through close, onboarding, reporting, and renewal
  • Drive renewals and proactively upsell sponsors from individual placements into higher-value integrated packages
  • Maintain a clean, up-to-date pipeline and provide regular reporting to the Founder on outreach activity, pipeline status, and closed revenue
  • Represent Purple Jam authentically at events and within the Austin creative and business community.
  • Adhere to approved rate card pricing and escalate any discount requests to the CEO and Partners for approval
  • Monitor and analyze website, newsletter, and social media performance using tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Instagram Insights, TikTok Analytics, LinkedIn Analytics, and newsletter reporting platforms
  • Prepare and deliver monthly sponsor analytics reports including impressions, reach, engagement, click through rates, audience growth, and campaign performance metrics
  • Track sponsor campaign performance and provide strategic recommendations for improving visibility and engagement.
  • Collaborate with the content and media team to ensure sponsor placements align with audience trends and platform performance.
  • Maintain accurate reporting dashboards and organized sponsor performance records.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or comparable professional experience required
  • Two or more years of experience in sales, media, sponsorships, advertising, events, or business development
  • Experience working with brands, agencies, or community organizations in a sales or partnership capacity preferred

Skills and Competencies

  • Demonstrated ability to prospect, pitch, and close deals independently with minimal supervision

  • Exceptional attention to detail in contract coordination, asset collection, and sponsor reporting
  • Ability to work across functions and communicate effectively with the Founder and internal team
  • Genuine understanding of digital media, social platforms, newsletters, and live events as advertising channels
  • Demonstrated discretion and sound judgment when representing the Purple Jam brand in external conversations
  • A warm network in Austin's creative, cultural, hospitality, or business community is a significant asset
  • Continuous learner who adapts quickly and thrives in a growing, fast-moving organization
  • Deep personal alignment with Purple Jam's culture — purpose, people, and community are not talking points, they are how you move through the world
  • Strong familiarity with digital analytics tools including Google Analytics, Google Search Console, newsletter analytics platforms, and native social media insights tools
  • Ability to interpret audience and campaign data and communicate insights clearly to sponsors and internal stakeholders
  • Understanding of basic SEO, traffic sources, audience behavior, and digital performance metrics is strongly preferred
  • Comfortable working with spreadsheets, reporting dashboards, and presentation materials

What We Provide
