Responsibilities
- Provide peer-led support to individuals experiencing mental health or addiction challenges, fostering hope and motivation for recovery.
- Utilize crisis management skills to de-escalate situations, ensuring safety for clients and staff alike.
- Conduct behavioral health assessments and develop personalized recovery plans in collaboration with clinical teams.
- Offer mentoring and peer counseling, sharing lived experiences to inspire confidence and resilience.
- Assist clients in navigating social services, housing, employment, and other community resources.
- Document interactions and progress using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems accurately and confidentially.
- Promote engagement through motivational interviewing techniques, encouraging clients’ active participation in their recovery journey.
Experience
- Lived experience with mental health recovery or substance use disorder is highly valued.
- Prior experience in crisis intervention or crisis management within behavioral health settings is preferred.
- Knowledge of behavioral health principles, addiction counseling, and mental health counseling practices.
- Familiarity with social work concepts and techniques for supporting vulnerable populations.
- Strong skills in motivational interviewing to facilitate client-centered conversations.
- Experience working with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems for documentation purposes is advantageous.
