Heartline Staffing is recruiting a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) for an onsite opportunity in Kalispell, Montana. This role is designed for an active CPA with public accounting experience who can provide tax, accounting, financial reporting and advisory services while developing strong relationships with individual and business clients.
The CPA will prepare and review tax returns, research complex tax matters, support tax planning, prepare and review financial statements, analyze financial information and advise clients on financial and business matters. The position requires the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining accuracy and exceptional client service.
COMPENSATION
$81,000-$100,000

TAX SERVICES
Prepare and review federal, state and local tax returns
Work with individual and business tax returns
Support returns for partnerships, S Corporations, C Corporations, trusts and estates, and nonprofit organizations
Conduct tax research and analyze complex tax issues
Develop tax-planning strategies designed to minimize liabilities and maximize savings
Maintain compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations
Respond to IRS and state tax notices and correspondence
Assist clients with tax audits and examinations as needed
ACCOUNTING & FINANCIAL SERVICES
Prepare and review financial statements and supporting schedules
Assist clients with bookkeeping, general-ledger maintenance and account reconciliations
Analyze financial data and provide meaningful recommendations
Support month-end and year-end closing processes
Prepare compiled and reviewed financial statements in accordance with professional standards
CLIENT ADVISORY SERVICES
Serve as a trusted advisor to business owners and individual clients
Provide guidance regarding entity selection, business growth, succession planning and cash-flow management
Identify opportunities to improve financial performance and operational efficiencies
Meet with clients to discuss financial and tax strategies
PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain applicable professional standards
Stay current on evolving tax laws, accounting regulations and industry trends
Mentor and support junior accounting staff
Assist with workflow management and quality-control procedures
Participate in business-development and community-engagement activities
Requirements
Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license REQUIRED
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field REQUIRED
3 years of public accounting experience REQUIRED
Strong knowledge of federal and state tax regulations REQUIRED
Experience preparing and reviewing individual and business tax returns REQUIRED
Proficiency with accounting, tax and financial-reporting software REQUIRED
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills REQUIRED
Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving abilities REQUIRED
Excellent written and verbal communication skills REQUIRED
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities REQUIRED
PREFERRED
5 years of public accounting experience
Experience with tax planning and consulting services
Familiarity with QuickBooks and cloud-based accounting platforms
Experience supervising or mentoring staff
Knowledge of small-business and closely held company accounting
