Job Summary Description:

This position is responsible for coordinating day-to-day field operations to support the successful rehabilitation and repair of sewer and stormwater lines. The Field Coordinator partners closely with project managers, superintendents, and field crews to plan work, schedule resources, maintain documentation, ensure safety compliance, and support seamless project execution.

 

Essential Job Accountabilities:

  • Coordinate daily/weekly crew schedules, equipment assignments, and material deliveries.
  • Align planned activities with project milestones, permits, and traffic control requirements.
  • Verify job site readiness (permits, utility locates, access, staging areas, traffic control).
  • Arrange mobilization/demobilization, waste disposal, and specialty vendors as needed.
  • Maintain daily reports (crews, equipment hours, production quantities, site conditions).
  • Collect and review pre- and post-installation videos, photos, and field logs.
  • Track work orders, change conditions, and as-built data; submit timely updates to PMs.
  • Support safety briefings (JSAs/Toolbox Talks); monitor for hazards and escalate issues.
  • Ensure compliance with confined space, traffic control, and environmental requirements.
  • Assist in incident reporting, corrective actions, and safety documentation.
  • Confirm adherence to specifications (e.g., CIPP prep/curing parameters, bypass, cleaning).
  • Help coordinate inspections, pressure/vacuum tests, and punch-list closeout.
  • Serve as a point of contact between field crews, PMs, clients, inspectors, and vendors.
  • Provide timely status updates, schedule impacts, and material/equipment needs.
  • Track material usage; coordinate reorders and deliveries.
  • Submit work orders for vehicle and equipment maintenance as needed.
  • Drive to job sites to support field crews and deliver documents/materials as needed.
  • Complete driver’s daily record of duty when applicable.
  • Other tasks, as assigned.

 

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalency required.
  • Associate’s degree or coursework in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred).

 

Experience:

  • 1–3 years of experience in field coordination, utility construction, or trenchless rehabilitation (water/wastewater/stormwater) required.
  • Experience with CIPP or related trenchless technologies (preferred).
  • Prior exposure to traffic control, confined space operations, and municipal construction (preferred).
  • CDL (preferred).
  • Acceptable driving record.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and adjust to changing field conditions.
  • Proficient in daily reporting, basic quantity tracking, and document control.
  • Familiarity with confined space, traffic control, and environmental best practices.
  • Clear, professional communication with crews, PMs, inspectors, and clients.
  • Ability to travel as required up to 90% if needed.
  • Must successfully pass a drug test and driver’s license check (past 2 years without suspensions or major violations).
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 75 lbs. on occasion and work effectively in/around confined spaces and active construction environments.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds (and up to 75 pounds when assisting with field mobilization tasks). Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. At times will be working around large construction equipment; must be safety conscious.
