Responsibilities
- Dispense prescriptions accurately while adhering to all regulatory guidelines and safety protocols
- Provide comprehensive patient assessments, including medication reviews and health evaluations, to ensure optimal therapeutic outcomes
- Collaborate with healthcare providers on medication management plans, pain management strategies, and medical treatments
- Administer immunizations and perform medication administration following proper aseptic techniques and safety standards
- Work closely with the local Hospice team, as the regional contract pharmacist/pharmacy for the Hospice organization providing recommendations and chart review.
- Manage inventory levels efficiently.
- Educate patients on medication use, potential side effects, and health management strategies while maintaining HIPAA compliance
- Support pharmacy technicians in daily operations, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to quality standards.
Skills
- Completion of a pharmacy degree from an accredited institution, and active licensure in good standing with the State of Colorado
- A strong understanding of the profession of pharmacy and mastery of pharmacy practice
- Proficiency in pharmacy software systems, EMR/EHR platforms, and inventory management tools (Jack's Market Pharmacy utilizes PioneerRx software -prior experience with PioneerRx is wonderful but certainly not required).
- Immunization and CPR/BLS certifications
- Experience in protocol prescribing (not required)
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and data security
- Proven ability to provide excellent patient service through effective communication and compassionate care
- Experience working with pharmacy technicians to coordinate workflow efficiently
- Strong interpersonal skills
- An open mind to problem solving and troubleshooting through creativity
