Quality Engineer – Automotive Manufacturing
Location: Prichard, WV

About the Role
We are seeking a detail‑driven and proactive Quality Engineer to support product conformity, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement within our automotive manufacturing operations. As a Quality Engineer, you will represent the voice of the customer, support APQP and PPAP activities, lead corrective actions, and ensure our processes meet the highest standards of quality and compliance.
Customer & Project Support
Serve as the primary customer contact for quality‑related topics
Participate in APQP project teams to support successful product launches
Manage customer portals, scorecards, and improvement plans
Gather customer feedback and drive satisfaction initiatives
Provide training to employees on quality standards and updates
Quality Engineering & Compliance
Develop and maintain capability studies, gage R&R, inspection instructions, and control plans
Lead and manage PPAP submissions for assigned programs
Monitor production processes and equipment to ensure quality specifications are met
Conduct data analysis and present quality results to management
Create testing procedures and manage non‑conforming product processes
Apply AIAG Core Tools (APQP, FMEA, MSA, PPAP, SPC) and relevant CQI standards
Ensure compliance with Customer Specific Requirements (CSRs)
Drive 8D corrective actions to effective closure
Support supplier quality performance and improvement
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Work closely with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, and Supply Chain
Support internal and external audits
Promote awareness of customer requirements and quality policies
Safety & Environmental Responsibilities
Follow all Health, Safety, Environmental, and Energy policies
Promote safe practices during inspections and testing
Participate in emergency preparedness and waste‑reduction initiatives

Required profile
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or 5 years of relevant experience
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills
High attention to detail and accuracy
Solid understanding of quality standards and regulatory requirements
Excellent communication and documentation skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook
Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
Team‑oriented mindset with a continuous improvement approach
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 20 lbs regularly
Work environment includes both office and shop‑floor settings
