JOB INFORMATION
Position Title: Mechanic
Reports to: Foreman, LGS
Department: WY Field Operations
Non-Exempt
JOB SUMMARY
The Mechanic is responsible for interfacing with employees, contractor employees, and vendors to optimize maintenance activities in a productive, safe and environmentally sound manner.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Inspects equipment for safety problems, leaks, or wear and tear, and makes or recommends appropriate repairs.
- Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting, inspection, and other Company equipment.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
- Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and facilities. Execute routine maintenance programs for company equipment.
- Recommend course of action for repair/maintenance of equipment
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of equipment and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of equipment.
- Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of equipment; reviews equipment status with operational personnel and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of trucks and equipment.
- May perform gas and arc welding as required in routine maintenance.
- Assists in training and mentoring maintenance technician trainees; orients operators in maintenance procedures and field maintenance for specialized equipment.
- Carry out various tasks as assigned by supervisor or manager.
- Other duties as assigned.
HIRING REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 5 - 15 years in the oil & gas industry preferred
- Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks at one time is required
- Must possess excellent communication, teamwork, planning, and organizing skills
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to perform physically demanding work in various weather and environmental conditions, including extreme heat, cold, wind, rain, and dusty environments.
- Ability to frequently stand, walk, climb, kneel, crouch, bend, stoop, and reach for extended periods.
- Ability to safely lift, carry, push, and pull equipment, tools, and materials weighing up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds occasionally, with or without assistance.
- Ability to climb ladders, stairs, scaffolding, and access elevated work areas.
- Ability to work in confined spaces and around heavy machinery and moving equipment.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment requiring manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to wear and properly utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection and flame-resistant clothing.
- Ability to maintain AND inspect equipment, identify hazards, and perform mechanical repairs.
- Ability to travel between field locations and work sites as needed.
- Must be able to meet all company fitness-for-duty requirements, including compliance with applicable safety and drug/alcohol testing programs.
