About the Role:
PureTek Corporation is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Inspector to oversee and enhance safety programs across our two manufacturing locations in Los Angeles. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations, implementing best safety practices, and fostering a culture of safety in pharmaceutical and cosmetic manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will be OSHA-certified and play a key role in our Safety Committee, collaborating across departments to maintain and improve workplace safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures in compliance with OSHA, Cal/OSHA, and other regulatory requirements.
- Conduct safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments at both manufacturing facilities to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials in compliance with industry and regulatory standards.
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action implementation.
- Facilitate safety training and educational programs for employees, ensuring compliance with required certifications and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate safety records, reports, and documentation, including OSHA logs and compliance reports.
- Collaborate with HR, Operations, and department managers to promote workplace safety culture and initiatives.
- Act as a key member of the Safety Committee, leading safety meetings and participating in process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills:
- OSHA 30 or OSHA 510 certification required (additional safety certifications are a plus).
- 3 years of experience in an EHS or Safety Coordinator role in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, Cal/OSHA, EPA, and FDA safety regulations.
- Experience conducting safety audits, training, and compliance reporting.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English is required and a key aspect in being able to perform this job.
- Experience in worker's compensation is preferred but not required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to recommend and implement safety improvements.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work cross-functionally with different teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for reporting and documentation.
