What are the responsibilities and job description for the Temporary Laundry Attendants position at Purestar Group?
United Laundry Services-Kona, LLC is seeking ten (10) temporary, full-time Laundry Attendants for the period November 16, 2026 through August 31, 2027.
This position will be responsible for processing hotel, airline, food and beverage, and other types of commercial linen to meet quality and efficiency standards.
Workers typically perform a variety of tasks, which may include any combination of the following:
- Sorts soiled linen by type and places it in laundry bags queued for washing.
- Receives and marks articles for laundry or dry cleaning by identifying code numbers or names, using hand or machine markers.
- Feeds washed linen into a folding or ironing machine. The folding machine folds the linen through air pressure while the ironing machine irons and folds the linen.
- Receives the linen at the back of the folding or ironing machine and stacks the linen into a laundry bin.
- Manually folds and stacks linen that cannot be processed by equipment.
- Prepares a checklist identifying the contents of each laundry bin and the customer to whom the linen belongs.
- Starts washers, dry cleaners, dryers, or extractors, and turns valves or levers to regulate machine processes and the volume of soap, detergent, water, bleach, starch, and other additives.
- Checks the quality of linen coming out of the equipment and sets aside linen with stains, rips, or tears.
- Informs the Production Supervisor on duty of any equipment issues.
- Performs assigned duties efficiently and in accordance with the Company's established quality and production procedures.
- Maintains a safe and clean work environment throughout the facility.
- Performs other related laundry attendant duties consistent with the occupation and the duties described in this job order, as assigned by the manager.
Qualifications and Minimum Requirements:
- This is an entry-level position.
- No prior experience is required.
- The worker must be able to respond to basic verbal commands and follow directions.
Training, Tools & Equipment:
- On-the-job training will be provided to the workers.
- The Company will provide each worker, without charge or deposit, with all tools, supplies, and equipment that are required to perform their assigned duties.

The worksite is accessible by public transportation. The nearest bus stop is located across the street from the worksite.
The Company will offer daily transportation to and from the worksite from a centralized designated pick-up place at no cost to workers. Use of this transportation is voluntary.
Work Hours:
- One shift is generally scheduled from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., including a 30-minute unpaid meal period.
- The Company will offer 40 hours of work per week, generally 8 hours per day, 5 days per week.
- Workdays may include weekends and holidays.
- Additional hours, including overtime, may be available depending on business needs and workload. Start and end times may occasionally vary based on operational needs.
Physical / Mental Requirements:
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods throughout the work shift.
- Ability to work in an industrial setting with hot or cold conditions and distracting noise levels.
- Ability to perform repetitive upper-body and hand motions.
- Ability to occasionally bend and twist the upper body.
- Good hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to push or pull carts weighing several hundred pounds.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Wage Information:
- The wage is no less than $20.22 per hour.
- Overtime may be available. Overtime hours will be paid at $30.33 per hour. If the worker's regular hourly rate increases above $20.22, the applicable overtime rate will be calculated in accordance with applicable law.
- The Company's workweek begins on Sunday and ends on Saturday. A single workweek will be used to compute wages due.
- The payroll period is weekly, and workers are paid by check on the following Thursday after the end of the workweek.
- Rate increases and/or bonuses may be offered at the Company's discretion, based on individual factors such as performance, skill, and tenure.
- The Company will make deductions from the worker's paycheck as required by law.
- Workers may voluntarily elect to participate in available benefit plans, such as medical, prescription drug, vision, dental, FSA, and other voluntary insurance plans. Applicable employee premium contributions for benefits voluntarily elected by the worker will be deducted from the worker's paycheck.
- Workers who voluntarily elect employer-assisted housing will be charged $237.50 per week ($950 per month) for rent, which will be deducted from the worker's paycheck. Housing is voluntary and is not a condition of employment. Workers may secure their own housing. The housing deduction will comply with applicable H-2B and wage-and-hour requirements.
Other Terms:
- The Company will pay in advance or reimburse workers in the first workweek for all visa, visa-processing, border-crossing, and other related fees, excluding passport expenses.
- The Company will provide, pay in advance, or reimburse workers for reasonable inbound transportation and subsistence costs from the place from which the worker has come to work for the Company to the place of employment. If not provided, paid, or advanced earlier, reimbursement will be made no later than the time the worker completes 50% of the job order period. Transportation reimbursement will be based on the most economical and reasonable common carrier cost.
- Upon completion of the job order period or if the worker is dismissed by the employer before the end of the job order, the employer will provide or pay the worker's reasonable costs of return transportation and daily subsistence to the place from which the worker departed to work for the employer, except where the worker has immediate subsequent employment as permitted by law. Return transportation will be based on the most economical and reasonable common carrier cost.
- Daily subsistence during inbound and return travel will be provided at no less than $16.78 per day and up to $68.00 per day with receipts, plus reasonable lodging costs when lodging is necessary.
- The Company guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three-fourths (3/4) of the workdays in each 12-week period of the total employment period, beginning with the first workday after the worker's arrival at the place of employment or the advertised first date of need, whichever is later, and ending on the end date specified in the job order or any extension thereof.
