Oracle DBA

Location: 2x a week onsite in San Diego, CA

Duration: 6 Months

Need 2 Managerial references at the time of submission.

Technical Must Haves:

  1. 5 years in a DBA role and with Oracle and Postgres, and exposure to MongoDB
  2. PL/SQL experience performance tuning, database optimization, stored procedures
  3. Must understand Core DBA functions - see below and ensure keywords are on resumes

Understands database architecture - SGA, PGA, datafiles, logs, tablespaces, schemas, data dictionary views, Oracle RAC (real application clusters) and ASM (automatic storage management)

  • installation and configuration of oracle database, applying patches and upgrades
  • performance tuning - SQL tuning, optimizing indexes, execution plans
  • backup & recovery - RMAN (recovery manager), data guard for disaster recovery
  • Oracle RAC for clustering
  • writing shell scripts, PL/SQL for stored procedures and automation
