We are seeking a friendly, dependable, and motivated individual to join us as an Assistant Property Manager at Amber Oak Self Storage in Tehachapi, CA. This is a great opportunity to build skills in property management, customer service, and business operations while working independently in a trusted role.
What You’ll Do
As our Assistant Property Manager, you’ll be the face of our property, ensuring everything runs smoothly and customers feel taken care of. Your responsibilities will include:
- Customer service with a smile – greet, assist, and support renters in person and over the phone.
- Manage rentals and accounts – process move-ins/outs, update customer records, and ensure timely payments.
- Handle transactions with accuracy – balance cash drawers daily and process payments (cash, card, check, money order).
- Promote property success – upsell storage supplies and maintain occupancy goals.
- Ensure security & upkeep – perform inspections, enforce policies, and keep the property safe, clean, and organized.
- Problem-solve with professionalism – resolve customer issues, disputes, and inquiries in a confident, respectful manner.
- Keep operations on track – maintain accurate records, complete audits, and provide daily performance reports.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in self-storage, property management, hospitality, retail, or customer service preferred.
- Strong, professional communication skills – both in-person and over the phone.
- Confident in enforcing policies while staying approachable and service-minded.
- Independent and organized – comfortable running a location solo.
- Spanish-speaking is a plus!
Schedule & Location
- Part-time weekends: Thursday through Saturday, 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM
- Occasional coverage opportunities available (flexible, but not required).
- Location: Tehachapi, CA – Must live locally.
